Our focus is to meet both the needs of students today while investing in the bold initiatives and state-of-the-art infrastructure that will benefit the students of tomorrow.

Story

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Shawn Harrington effective August 31, 2023.

Shawn has been a fixture at Fanshawe for many years, beginning as a student in the Architectural Technology program, graduating in 1990. During his studies, he held two co-op positions, both at Fanshawe. Upon graduating Shawn was hired as a Project Coordinator within the Facilities team at Fanshawe. Shawn took the step into a management role in 2002 and progressed to his current Director role in 2017.

A career that spans 33 years has created several “legacy” moments including major redevelopments such as Innovation Village and the Campus Energy Centre, the London Airport site, Student Wellness Centre among many other momentous events at the College.

Shawn has always had a huge heart for the students and work of Fanshawe, and so we would like to commemorate his legacy at Fanshawe by raising funds to support the Architectural Technology program. Donations in honour of Shawn's retirement will be directed to the Architectural Technology Achievement Award an endowment fund within the Fanshawe College Foundation.

This award helps support Fanshawe College students to focus on their academics and help alleviate the financial barriers they may have with pursuing post-secondary education.

We wish to thank Shawn on behalf of the entire College community for his many years of service, his wisdom, his humour and his friendship. He will be missed!
