Sigma Chi was founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1855. The Iota Epsilon Chapter was established at the College of Charleston in 1989. Sigma Chi members are committed to raising awareness for Mental Health and regularly support and volunteer with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, American Red Cross and Feeding the Carolinas.
