As an organization with more than a century of experience in caring for our community, the Valley of the Sun YMCA responds quickly to these challenges; creatively expanding our programs to meet our community when, where and how we are needed most.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we can continue to ensure the health, safety and well-being of every YMCA child and family. We are working to pave the way for a bright future to all of our community no matter their age, race, gender or socioeconomic status.
The Valley of the Sun YMCAs mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
The Southwest Valley Family YMCA does not turn anybody away for an inability to pay for YMCA programs such as: childcare, early learning, and youth sports.
The after-school hours of 3pm-6pm are critical times for youth to be engaged in positive activities to discourage unhealthy behaviors.
Your support will ensure all families have access to high quality programs that fit within their financial budget.
Through the YMCA Outreach Program for Aging Seniors (Y OPAS), the Southwest Valley Family YMCA provides transportation, friendly visiting, social gatherings, and light household duties to homebound seniors.
Without this program, seniors who are unable to drive would continue to be socially isolated, which could result in depression and declining health.
The Southwest Valley Family YMCA provides free water safety education for youth and their caregivers.
In Maricopa County, 18 children tragically lost their lives to drowning in 2024, all of which were preventable.
With your support, our water safety initiative can reduce drowning related incidents through awareness, education, and action.
