Story

19 Years of Protecting Dallas: Honoring the Legacy of Sgt. Joshua Boykin #8910

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that Dallas Police Sergeant Joshua Boykin has passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in an off-duty plane crash on May 16, 2026. While Joshua fought with everything he had, his final watch has come, leaving behind a legacy of profound service, sacrifice, and leadership.

A Lifetime of Service to Dallas

For nearly two decades, Joshua Boykin dedicated his life to protecting our community. As a 19-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, he was a respected leader, a reliable colleague, and a deeply devoted family man. Many know him from his years of dedicated service in the Department’s Traffic Unit—proudly wearing the red shoulder tabs—while most recently he continued to lead and mentor officers as a Sergeant in the Central Patrol Division.

He spent his entire career answering the call when others needed help. Now, it is our turn to answer the call for him and stand with those he loved most.

How Your Donations Help

While the mission of this campaign has tragically shifted, the need to support Joshua’s loved ones is more urgent than ever. The financial challenges following such an unexpected and catastrophic loss are immense. Every dollar raised through this campaign will now go directly toward assisting his family with final memorial expenses, navigating the sudden financial burdens of his passing, and providing long-term support for his household.

Our goal is to completely remove the weight of financial stress so Joshua's family can focus entirely on mourning and honoring a true hero.

Please consider donating, continuing to share this link, and keeping Joshua’s family, friends, and fellow officers in your thoughts and prayers during this time of grief. Thank you for your continued generosity and solidarity.
