Story
Hundreds of students come to the Library every day looking for a place to do their best work—a quiet corner to focus, a table for group projects, a sound booth for recording, a place to rest between classes, or simply somewhere they feel welcome. For many—over 357,000 visits last year—that place is the Library.
Students have named the Library the “most welcoming place on campus,” and we take that seriously. But students' needs don’t stand still—and neither can we. Through space-use analysis, service data, and thoughtful design, we continually adapt our spaces to support how students actually learn, collaborate, and recharge.
The Student-Centered Spaces Fund makes that possible. It allows us to respond quickly and intentionally—whether that’s installing Zen Booths for recording, telehealth, and private conversations, or creating calming, plant-filled lounge spaces through our Forest of Care initiative.
This fund isn’t about furniture—it’s about function, belonging, and student success.
Your gift helps us keep the Library vibrant, flexible, and truly student-centered. It creates the everyday moments that matter: a focused study session, a successful group project, a deep breath between classes, a place to feel at home.
