Story
Last winter, a grandmother named Denise came to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit after her hours at work were cut. She was raising two grandchildren and quietly skipping meals so they wouldn’t have to. When her utility shutoff notice arrived, she didn’t know where to turn. Because of generous donors, Denise received groceries, help with her bill, and the encouragement she needed to keep going. She told us, “I finally felt like someone saw me.” Your gift makes moments like that possible. It turns fear into relief and hardship into hope for families who simply need a hand up.
