Story
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at Cal Poly Humboldt is a student club that supports future engineers through leadership, inclusion, and kindness. It’s a space for people of all backgrounds, with a special focus on uplifting women in engineering, where they can grow both personally and professionally.
In February 2026, SWE members have the chance to attend the SWE Local Conference in Portland, OR—an inspiring event that brings together thousands of engineers, top companies, and professionals from across the country. It’s an opportunity to network, learn new skills, and gain the kind of experience that shapes careers and futures.
At the most recent SWE conference in San Jose, member Ariana Robinson shared:
“Our recent trip to SWE San Jose was truly transformative. It gave me the chance to connect with incredible companies, gain insights into the industry, and refine my career goals for the future. I also learned valuable life skills, including financial literacy, strategies for managing burnout, and the emerging areas of engineering that are shaping the future of the field.”
That’s the kind of impact this next conference in Portland will bring—new connections, new skills, and inspiration to carry forward.
