Precious Dreams Foundation (PDF) is hosting our 12th Annual Fundraiser this October 26th at Chelsea Piers in New York City. PDF is an amazing non-profit organization that provides bedtime comfort items, mental health programs, and support for youth as they enter foster care or homeless shelters as well as when they exit. It was founded locally in NYC by Nicole Russell when she witnessed her four-year-old foster sister cope with consistent nightmares but has now expanded to nine chapters nationwide and has global outreach.

I've been involved with PDF since its 2012 launch, helping with all the design needs from pitch decks to websites to gala invitations and room dressings and everything in between; attending comfort bag drops, and I even DJ'd the gala one year! Now a member of their board. I continue to help enlist support for this impactful and much-needed organization focused on children in need.

Today there are over 428,000 children in foster care and nearly 40% of the homeless in the US are under 18. Since 2012, PDF has served more than 14,724 youth and young adults—94% of participants being children of color—and has distributed over 69,449 comfort items for emergency assistance (children of immigrants, refugees, and disaster relief etc. globally).

To empower children to relax and focus on their dreams, Comfort Drop volunteers pack and distribute carefully selected items which consist of our signature Precious Dreams Foundation backpacks filled with brand-new, age-appropriate books, plush toys, journals, pajamas, and other bedtime necessities. In addition, PDF provides support through:

coping tools for all ages

access to free yoga

meditation and journaling workshops

our new Humble Dreams Initiative in 2020 to provide mentors, stipends, and accountability partners to support the aspirations of 16-21-year-olds living in shelters.

Every dollar makes an impact by providing comfort bags to children: $30 provides a comfort bag to 1 child while $2500 helps a shelter of 100 children. I'm personally trying to reach a fundraising goal of $7500 to assist in making an immediate and direct impact on the lives of so many vulnerable youths in our country.
