For the past 23 years, Team Walker has been providing alternatives and solutions to the negative influences that plague inner-city youth through its After School Program by ensuring kids have access to a wide variety of educational and supportive programs, including academic enrichment and remediation, culture and arts, positive youth development and athletics. Jerry Walker and his brother, Jasper Walker, founded team Walker in 1996 with the mission to improve the quality of life for the children of Jersey City by mirroring the after school activities and programs their grandfather, James Pop Curry, pioneered within his community, ultimately keeping their familys dedication to community service alive. A product and beacon of hope for the community, Team Walkers After School Program has essentially been serving the Jersey City community for decades.

Team Walker's After School Program has since evolved into multiple academic and enrichment programs, such as its Summer STEAM Program, Saturday STEM Program in conjunction with the Liberty Science Center, SAT Program, Summer Basketball League, Team Walker Steppers, and much, much more.

All proceeds will go toward improving the quality of life for the children in Jersey City through Team Walker's academic and enrichment programs.

Team Walker's academic programs are designed to promote critical and creative thinking skills and provide access to fields of education that are shaping our society, including STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs. Students can explore and learn through exciting enrichment programs, workshops and field trips. Team Walker offers students homework help, tutoring and recreation as part of its approach to building the mind, body and soul. Participants have access to a wide variety of educational and supportive programs, including academic enrichment and remediation, culture and arts, positive youth development and athletics. Through a structured academic and recreational environment, the children learn the importance of education, responsibility, persistence, teamwork and unity. With access to positive role models, hard-won accomplishments in combination with a heightened awareness of their capabilities, the children have the opportunity to improve their quality of life significantly.
