When you donate to Global Grassroots, you are helping teams of East African women design and launch water access points that save each woman in their village over 1200 hours per year.
What do these amazing teams of women do with their reclaimed time? They improve the lives of women and girls by promoting women's rights, supporting girls' access to education, and increasing women's safety and well being.
Did you know that millions of women around the world spend an average of 3.2 hours every day collecting water?
When water supplies are low, women can travel up to six hours a day to reach a contaminated source.
With support from Global Grassroots, and generous donors like you, underserved women in East Africa can reclaim their time and transform their lives.
Through our Women's Water Leadership Initiative, we offer women the skills and resources they need to design and launch their own non-profit water ventures.
Our mindfulness informed programs offer women the chance to heal from trauma and focus on social transformation.
With your support, Global Grassroots helps teams of 8-45 women bring safe, clean water access right into their communities.
Each water point provides safe clean water for over 3000 people. Our women-led water teams reinvest 100% of the profits from water sales into improving the lives of women and girls. They support women's rights, address community health needs, improve girls' access to education, and increase women's safety and well-being.
