Northeast Lakeview College was one of fourteen (14) colleges and universities honored by the Texas Veterans Commission and received the first ever Veteran Education Excellence Recognition in 2021. This new award established by the State of Texas recognizes universities and colleges that provide excellence in education and related services which significantly contribute to the academic success of student veterans and military connected students.

This is an amazing accomplishment, says Dr. Veronica Garcia, NLC president. As the newest of the Alamo Colleges, we (NLC), just began offering Veteran benefits a few years ago. I credit the staff of our Veterans Center for continuing to enhance the services we provide for our Veteran students and their families.

The Veterans Center helps all eligible veterans obtain financial assistance and information on Texas and Federal Veterans Benefits while they attend Northeast Lakeview College. The college participates in educational programs provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Support of this program will ensure that our veteran population has the means to succeed.
