The 2026 Bonavista Walk for Water
After the great success of the Walk for Water events in 2024 and 2025, we’re excited to announce that it’s happening again in 2026! In partnership with Women Making a Difference, this year’s walk will raise funds to bring clean water to the village of Mana, Burkina Faso.
Your support will make a big difference:
The walk is raising funds to bring clean water and sanitation to Mana. Mana faces poverty and a harsh climate with droughts lasting nine months of the year. During the short rainy season, families collect rainwater, but for the rest of the year, women and girls walk long distances every day to fetch water from rivers or wells. These sources are often polluted, making it difficult for the community to stay healthy and thrive. Sanitation is also a major challenge. With no proper toilets in the village, open defecation is common, which further contaminates water sources.
By taking part in this year’s Walk for Water, you will help drill two boreholes and construct five latrines in Mana, providing reliable access to clean water and improved sanitation.
