Story
RedLine is a nonprofit arts organization located in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, that fosters education and engagement between artists and communities to create positive social change. RedLine offers free studio space and ongoing arts educational opportunities for emerging artists, community members, and children in local schools. Most recently, RedLine has dispatched our mission to foster education and engagement between artists and communities to respond to the many tragedies that have impacted the creative community.
The Word of Thanks campaign will help support the work that RedLine does to be a go-to resource for artists and communities during times of crisis to find space, support, resources, engagement, and connection.
Your gift helps to provide emergency grants to artists, creative businesses, and their families who have recently been impacted by traumas and tragedies within our local arts communities.
Most recently, RedLine partnered with the State of Colorado, City of Denver, and private and public philanthropy to provide over 20 million in relief grants over the past two years to artists and creative organizations across Colorado.
"We literally had $1.35 in our personal account and $4 in our business account when we got the news that we'd be receiving this grant. Life as an artist has been insanely rough since 2020. We are eternally grateful for all the work that has gone into the administration of this grant. We're not sure what we'd do with out this financial help right now.You all are angels. Truly." - Hansa & Joyti (artists)
We continue our work by providing resources, logistical support, and a platform and space for artists to honor and celebrate members of the creative community who have recently been lost due to the pandemic, mental health challenges, or violence.
Day in and day out, RedLine actively supports Denver's artistic ecosystem by providing a community studio space for artists who may be experiencing homelessness, or are in transition, or do not have a supportive space to create or supplies to create with.
RedLine also helps to design, develop, and administer statewide grant programs like Arts in Society, which funds artists and organizations directly to support cross-sector arts in rural, suburban, and metro communities.
RedLine also finds creative ways to provide affordable studio space through our Satellite and Safe Creative Space programs.
"My practice has flourished as a result of the community, connections, and opportunities RedLine offers. Every day I find myself challenged and inspired by the community that RedLine continues to build." - Lares Feliciano, Alumni Artist-in-Resident
We engage our youth through our arts education programs, including mentoring and classroom collaborations with local K12 students who lack funding for after-school arts programming.
We are also a go-to resource for artists in Colorado looking to propose exhibitions, make connections, develop programs, and find creative space. We support artists in the Denver street art and mural communities through programs like "Womxn Circle" and "Checking In."
"This is an alternate universe to me. If this was my family, this is what I would want it to look like."
- Anthony Garcia Sr., Artist -in-Residency Alumni
