Story
For the past 54 years, Youth Educational Services (Y.E.S.) has been instrumental in empowering and enriching numerous lives through its student-led volunteer programs in collaboration with local schools and community organizations. Y.E.S. programs are carefully designed to cater to the specific needs of the communities we serve, while also equipping our student volunteers with teamwork and leadership skills.
By engaging in activities that align with their passions, Y.E.S. programs enable students to develop a strong sense of belonging within Cal Poly Humboldt and the wider community, an essential factor in their overall success.
This experience has been like nothing I've ever done before. I can't possibly list all of the ways this has helped me grow. This academic year, Y.E.S. volunteers returned to community sites, offering hands-on learning experiences through a variety of programs that engage with children, youth, and seniors. These programs enable our students to apply their skills and passions to meaningful work while making a positive impact on the community.
