Story
My eldest son spent one month in Hurley's NICU after being born two months early at 3 pounds, 3 ounces with an under-developed esophageal sphincter. That time was spent mostly in an incubator, through which he was touched, changed, and treated. Feeding was done through a tube until development improved and visitors got glimpses of him from the other side of a large window. Through it all, Hurley's neonatal doctors and nurses - the HEROES - were there with words of encouragement and hope. My son's situation wasn't as serious as other children's, but he experienced the same compassion and urgency from every doctor and nurse on his team. We, sincerely, admire their dedication and consistency.
The year 2020 marks the 30th anniversary for Children's Miracle Network programs at Hurley Children's Hospital. Let's celebrate this incredible hospital and all the amazing heroes who work tirelessly to carry out the mission of CMN Hospitals across mid-Michigan. Every penny helps make a difference!
