Why am I running the London Marathon?
I wanted to do something which would take me out of my comfort zone, 26.2 miles is no easy task and I am not going to lie, I am nervous about it. The reason why I want to raise funds, is because my niece Sophia who was born in 2016, and was diagnosed with a rare condition called GNA01 when she was 18 months old.

Sophia experiences abnormal movements, as well as not being able to sit up and walk independently. Sophia is a brave and amazing little girl, with a huge smile which can light up any room.
Sophia is an outpatient at Evelina Childrens Hospital. In 2021 she underwent Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery to help with her involuntary movements. https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/deep-brain-stimulation/about/pac-20384562
To give you an idea of the impact of your donation:£10 could help put a childs mind at ease with imaginative toys, books and games that explain what happens in hospital.£100 could help the team put together amazing rucksacks full of distraction toys for every ward and department.£350 could buy even more DVD players with headphones and give every child the chance to escape into their favourite film.
Together with your support and help, I will be able to raise money which will enable children like my niece Sophia to get the care and support that they need.
Finishing the Marathon will be tough, but I am every bit determined to get over the line for Sophia and Evelina.
Let’s do this.
