London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

The Brain Tumour Charity's London Marathon team are raring to go and ready to run towards a better future for everyone diagnosed with a brain tumour. We can't wait to take on the 26.2 mile course through the streets of London on Sunday 21 April 2024.

Story

In 2011 our dear friends the Nelsons got the worst possible news about their son Reece, he had a brain tumour. After a courageous battle, he sadly passed away in Sept 2012 aged just 8 years old. For all that were lucky enough to know Reece, they will remember what a gorgeous, caring, funny and adventurous boy he was.

Reece should have been celebrating his 21st birthday in Oct 2024… which is what has inspired me to mark the occasion by raising as much as I can in his memory.

Thanks for reading my story…. Wish me luck as I’m going to need it!!!

Brain tumours are the BIGGEST cancer killer for children and adults under 40 but less than 1% of the national spend on cancer research goes towards brain tumour research, which is shocking so awareness and funding is quite literally life changing.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
