Story
This year, I’m turning 25—on International Women’s Day, v on brand from me... But beyond the birthday excitement, this month holds some serious significance for me.
March marks 10 years since I reached crisis point with my mental health and was lucky enough to receive medical care and ongoing psychological support.
A decade later? I’m still here. Still learning, still riding the waves, still grateful every single day for the support that helped me get here, and keeps me going.
I know my experience isn’t unique, BUT the care I received isn’t available to most.
🚨 Over 2 million people in the UK are on NHS mental health waitlists.
🚨 Too many reach crisis without the support they desperately need.
🚨 Mental health care should be a right, not a privilege.
So this March, I’m taking on Mind’s 100 Miles in March Challenge to:
💙 Honour my scared 15-year-old self.
💙 Celebrate the strength it took, and the people who played their parts, to build a life I'm loving (and running is a big old part of that!)
💙 Raise funds so that no mind is left behind.
My Challenge: Running 100 Miles (160.9 km) in March
I’m making my own donation, and if you lovely lot took this as an opportunity to donate the price of a (London) coffee (£4), together we could help fund:
💙 Mind’s Helpline—which saves lives.
💙 Therapy sessions for someone in crisis.
💙 Support for those struggling to hold on.
💙 Campaigns for policy changes that prioritise mental health.
If you can, please donate. Every pound makes a difference.
I’ll be sharing my runs, my why, and my love for running all month over on Instagram (@Phoebe_minson). And if you fancy pounding the pavements of London with me, drop me a message—I’d love the company!
Thank you for supporting Mind. Let’s do this!
Love,
Phoebe 💙
