I’ve chosen to run on behalf of the Brain Tumour Charity as its mission is one that is close to my heart. My wonderful mum has been living with a brain tumour in her pituitary gland for well over 20 years, and, although the tumour cannot be removed, she is able to live a normal life thanks to multiple rounds of medical intervention and a range of treatments.
It was an extremely long and difficult road for my mum, with a lot of unknowns relating to her diagnosis in the early days. Therefore, it’s vital that funding is given to excel research into brain tumours, helping speed up diagnosis and also improve the chances of a cure.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
