St. Mother Teresa, patroness of Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties, once said, "Stay where you are. Find your own Calcutta." Our mission at CCJLHC is to do just this- to love our neighbors as Jesus commanded, to meet our neighbors where they are, and to create more healthy, hopeful, and compassionate communities in the process. 

I'm also fundraising in memory of my Dad, Dr. Allen Balinski, whose life was a shining example of the words that St. Mother Teresa spoke and a legacy that I strive to carry on daily in my work at Catholic Charities. Even as an employee, CCJLHC has loved me like Jesus, met me in the season of life I am in, and encourages and challenges me to grow both personally and professionally. 

When you give to Catholic Charities, you are providing help in a myriad of ways including (but certainly not limited too!): caring for children who are in foster care and those who are waiting to be adopted into their forever homes; providing multi-disciplinary services to children currently experiencing and healing from trauma, abuse, and neglect; giving adults, teens, children, and families the ability to seek mental health counseling, grief support services, and substance use treatment regardless of faith or their ability ability to pay; supporting CCJLHC sponsored services that support the Catholic Parishes and Catholic schools in our 3 counties; and other specific and specialized services that may be needed in our communities at any given time. 

I'm aiming to raise $1,000 to support the mission and work of Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties and am hoping that you'll join my team. It will only take 100 of us at $10 each to reach this goal. Together, we can do ordinary things with extraordinary love!
