On Sunday, October 3, 2021, We will be participating in the 27th Annual Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children. I will be riding in support of children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Camp Boggy Creek had a huge impact in my family’s life. My son, Nicholas was born with Spina Bifida. When Nick was seven years old, our family was invited to the first annual Spina Bifida Family weekend. This would be the first time we would interact with other families that had a child born with SB. As a family we never expected the  huge impact this weekend would have on us. As a parent, I was so grateful for the other parents and staff that showed my how to be a parent of a SB son. My other children were able to meet other kids that had a brother or sister just like their brother. As for what being at Camp did for Nick….. I saw the light in his eyes and the never ending smile on his face….. these weekends were all about him and other children just like him . The family weekends showed us how blessed we were and how much fun we had…..from  wheelchair basketball, singing, making friends to welcoming every biker that rode into camp on the Ride For Children. One year Nick had his picture taken with Bruce Rossmeyer and that picture was used for the next years Ride for Children Poster. There are so many reasons Camp Boggy Creek deserves your support and mine. Our Family will be forever grateful for this ride and very special place
