As some of y’all know (some ad nauseam!) I like to mountain climb. Although calling myself an amateur mountaineer would be a stretch! Regardless, I’m heading back to Nepal in November to attempt to climb Ama Dablam (6,812m, 22,349 ft for my fellow Americans).

What many don’t know is my paternal grandmother was afflicted with Alzheimer's from a relatively young age, practically all my memorable life, until she passed away from complications of the disease when I was 18. Unfortunately, I only possess a few fleeting memories of the time before she started experiencing a cognitive decline and far too many memories of the devastating impact the disease has on both the individual and the loved ones around them.

As such, I’m raising money for the Alzheimer's Association for their work in support to help those suffering now and research to hopefully one day make Alzheimer's something people no longer have to suffer from.
