Restore confidence & allow mastectomy survivors to feel feminine & whole.

Day of Hope · 7 October 2021
The Beau Day of Hope is dedicated to empowering breast cancer survivors by offering complimentary 3-dimensional areola tattooing to women who have undergone reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy. These women may be uninsured or are no longer able to receive reimbursement from their health care providers. Our goal is to help restore confidence and allow mastectomy survivors to feel feminine and whole once again.
I am a firm believer in giving back to the community, especially at the grassroots level. There’s nothing like the feeling of generously contributing to those around you who are need of your help in some way.
Throughout my career in the permanent makeup industry, I found that one of the greatest rewards in this profession is using areola and nipple tattooing to restore the confidence of breast cancer survivors who have undergone breast reconstructive surgery.
For more than 25 years, my team and I would hear from survivors that they couldn’t imagine going through one more surgery or procedure — not even the tattooing — following their mastectomies.
Our clients would explain how painful it was to them to view their breasts following their mastectomies — but once the dimensional areola complex was tattooed, the realistic nature of the tattooing helped them find the confidence and familiarity they lost.
Survivors have encountered obstacles that prevent them from completing this journey after their breast reconstruction, whether it be health insurance issues, financial restraints, or lack of resources.
The WHY Behind the Beau Day of Hope
On the Day of Hope, the team at the Beau Institute team volunteer their services of areola and nipple tattooing for these survivors.
When other practitioners offered to come and work with us we were able to accommodate more survivors to help us realize our dream and make this a national event!
Warmly,
