I am running the 10K with the 'Brainstorm Brigade' / Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, in support of Epilepsy Ottawa.

Our precious granddaughter Emily experienced a 70 minute long seizure at the age of four months. She was later diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome; a rare and severe form of genetic epilepsy. Epilepsy obviously has a profound impact on the life of the individual with the diagnosis but it also deeply affects their family. The unpredictable nature of seizures can cause chronic stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation and isolation.

I appreciate the opportunity to support the wonderful work of Epilepsy Ottawa. Their mission is to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy and to enhance public awareness of this often misunderstood condition.
