Story
As many of you know, I ran the London Marathon 2024 to raise money for Diabetes UK, as a Type 2 myself and someone that lives with heart failure it seemed right to give back. In the run up to the marathon we had some shocking news. Darcy, our delightful four year old niece, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (that's her in the photo with her twin brother Ted). I said to Jo at the time that we must do something - and half way around London I thought to myself "this is what we are going to do!".
A marathon is nothing compared to what Darcy has been battling, a few hours running compared to countless hours of treatment and recover and yet more treatment. I really hope we can raise money to help all people affected by leukaemia and raise awareness while we are at.
I have joined #TEAMLC to run the London Marathon 2025. Please help me to support everyone affected by a blood cancer diagnosis in the UK.
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and we're here to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
