Your support will help kick-start imaginative changes at Guy's Cancer. These changes could lead to new ways of detecting cancer, improve peoples recovery, or minimise the terrible side effects some people suffer.

Story

I am supporting Guy’s Cancer Charity at this year’s London
Landmark Half Marathon, in light of their fantastic support given to my friend Mason.

Mason received a crushing diagnosis at the age of 27 that he has  an aggressive form of Brain Cancer. However, this has not stopped him to promote awareness for adults under 40 while also raising money for the causes that helped in his time of need.

Giving up is not an option for Mason and he plans to run 6
marathons in 2024. Running is his escape from the diagnosis but also a route to longevity in his condition.

“Running enables me to concentrate solely on the road,
and for a short while, I am able to forget about my diagnosis. It feels like a weight has been lifted. Running provides me with the best chance of longevity. I hope that all the running I do helps not just myself but also everyone around me, inspiring them to participate and making them fitter in the process.”

Mason has inspired me to do more in life, whether that is running or other aspects of life! Taking something that is negative and turning it into a positive outlet is how we should all lead our lives.

By sponsoring my London Landmarks Half Marathon race, you'll help support the incredible NHS staff and exceptional healthcare provided by Guy's Cancer. Your donations will help make sure everyone gets personalised care which is as unique as they are. Every penny of your donation will help to make a difference:

£10 could help run a virtual support group session, enabling
patients and carers to share their experiences of cancer from the comfort of their own home.

£50 could help provide a comforting care package for someone receiving end of life care, helping to alleviate symptoms and soothe fears.

£150 could provide expert welfare and benefits advice for a
patient experiencing financial hardship, giving them the freedom to focus on their recovery.

£350 can help invest in the latest surgical robotic
technology, so expert surgeons can work with greater accuracy and send patients home to their families sooner.

Thank you for all the support!
