Story

[PLEASE REPLACE WITH YOUR QUICK STORY, REASON FOR FUNDRAISING, AND ACTIVITY YOU ARE DOING!] GHANA IN Kenya serves in the country’s capital, Nairobi, where two of Africa’s largest slums are located – Kibera and Kawangware. Kibera is the largest slum in Africa, with over a quarter million people living in an area of about 1.5 square miles. These slums are also home to 60,000 street children. Because poverty and lack of access to education are prevalent issues in Kenya, child labor is common and many girls are subject to prostitution. Seeing a great need, IN Kenya is helping these teen moms become self-sufficient and empowered through our Teenage Mothers Program. This skills training program empowers young mothers who had to drop out of school with the ability to provide for their families and learn about Jesus.
