Royal Parks Half Marathon 2023 · 8 October 2023 ·

Our team of plucky runners are once again taking to the streets and parks of London to raise funds for Down's South London (DSL). DSL does amazing work supporting children with down's syndrome, and their families, across south London.

Story

I'm George, Eddy's dad. And Jonny is Eddy's godfather. Together we are attempting to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 8th October 2023 to raise money for Down's South London.

Down’s South London (DSL) was founded in 1998 and provides vital free services to children with Down’s Syndrome and their families in South London. The children, including Eddy, access a unique package of early intervention speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy from a team of highly skilled therapists with specialist knowledge. Over the last 22 years it has supported hundreds of children and their families.

DSL is also a family support network, providing much needed support and information sharing as well as valuable friendship opportunities for parents/carers and the children themselves.

DSL's service is paid for by voluntary donations and through a range of fundraising initiatives by DLS's families, friends and well wishers. It is run by a group of parent volunteer trustees to ensure all proceeds go directly to the therapy service.

Any donation that you can give allows Eddy to continue going to his weekly classes. Allows him and us to meet other kids and families with Down's syndrome and gives him access to the help with his physical, speech and language development.
