Story
This October, I’m taking on a mixed double HYROX challenge and raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support — a cause deeply personal to my family.
I promised my husband Rich, that I would still do the event after he passed away in June. Rich loved exercise and believed fitness should be fun — so that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
Together with my HYROX partner, Paul Rowland, we’ll be taking part in the HYROX Mixed Doubles event in Birmingham on 25th October — and we’ll be doing it with smiles, sweat, and plenty of fun.
It hasn’t always been easy to show up for every training session, but with the support of our coach Fred Tallis — who was there when I made that promise to Rich — and the camaraderie, encouragement, and banter from the amazing gang at Tallis Fitness (which Rich loved so much), we’ll be there, ready to take on HYROX.
I’d be so grateful if you could help me reach my £400 fundraising goal. That amount could fund the Macmillan Support Line for one hour — a lifeline for people living with cancer. Right now, over 3 million people in the UK are living with cancer. Macmillan’s mission is to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can’t do it without your support.
Thank you so much.
