For a lot of those who know me, around March every year I come out with statements like, 'Yeah I think I could do the Bath Half' or 'I'll run that next year' and every year without fail I don't quite take the plunge, sometimes intentionally avoiding the sign up and other times I genuinely forget, however this year is different...!
I have never run anything like this distance before, I've no idea if my legs will carry me through it or whether I have the mental strength to keep going. However I have decided to raise money to support a charity at the same time, so that will be all the motivation I need. That's what will keep me going when I force myself out to train on those cold, wintry nights!
The Genesis Trust was birthed in 1990 and has developed from a Soup Run into a Charity that has 10 different projects supporting the homeless and vulnerable from crisis to independence. Worryingly there has been an increasing trend of homelessness and poverty in the UK, which without charities like the Genesis Trust, would leave a huge gap in care / support / provision for those that need it the most.
That is why I am looking for support and sponsorship for this, so that we can continue to support those that deliver care, support, welfare, guidance, food, shelter and hope to those that need it most.
