Janelle's Helping a Neighbor Page

Janelle Samansky is raising money for Mentis, Napa's Center for Mental Health Services

Janelle's Helping a Neighbor Page · 30 April 2021

So many mental health crises can be avoided when people of all ages have the tools to address their challenges before they become insurmountable. Help us continue to educate, support, and inspire people to take care of their mental well-being.

Story

Mentis believes each of us has the capacity to improve our mental health. Their prevention program helps educate teens and the adults in their lives how to recognize the warning signs of suicide or mental health crisis through QPR training.

In high school I had friends that talked about suicide and self harm, and I was unprepared on how to help them. I knew they were struggling and wish I had the opportunity to learn how to better help them.

This is just one example of how Mentis is taking care of their community's mental well being, by teaching others how to listen, and react compassionately and effectively to others struggles.

It takes $10 to train someone in QPR suicide prevention; I took the training in college and I want to help others access the training too!

Thank you in advance for your help!
