Jane the snail runs the London Marathon

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
January 2022 was one of the scariest most surreal moments of my life. Tony took an overnight bag to hospital and didn’t come home for two months. AML and CML was diagnosed ( I didn’t really even know what Leukaemia was) and I steadily became more knowledgeable thanks to Leukaemia Care (and the amazing NHS). They support patients and their families. They supported me massively.
Fast forward two and a half years, Tony is doing well thanks to that transplant from Eric, and I want to do something to support this amazing charity. They help patients and their families ( me included) with support in the form of knowledge and emotional support through the treatment. They also do courses for GP’s to help them to diagnose Leukaemia, as with any cancer early diagnosis is vital, and the symptoms can so easily be missed or explained as something else. In the case of Tony he had felt unwell for so long and it was “explained “ as everything but cancer.
It’s a big challenge for me, I have never run that distance before but I am up for it. I want to run for those people that didn’t make it, the wonderful Mark, and for those fighting right now.
I have joined #TEAMLC to run the London Marathon 2025. Please help me to support everyone affected by a blood cancer diagnosis in the UK. It’s a massive amount to raise, anything you could do to help me reach it I’ll be really grateful.
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and we're here to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
