Jumpstart My Service Year is JVC Northwest's campaign that allows friends and family to show their support for loved ones as they go off to become Jesuit Volunteers.

Story

Hello! We are the Portland Mac and Morris JV communities. Will you help jumpstart our service year with JVC Northwest? By contributing, you join us in our mission to help make the Pacific Northwest a sustainable region where all are treated justly and equitably. Your gift goes into a communal pool which keeps our partner nonprofit fees low and allows us to place Jesuit Volunteers in these communities for years to come.

Meet our community:

She attended Loyola University Chicago, majoring in political science with minors in English & healthcare administration, and did research on the democratic potential of a federal theatre. Lauren Bauman (she/her) is from Bloomington, Indiana, and is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she studied history and pre-health studies. Kathryn Swanson (she/her) is from small town Montana. She enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring new places. Kathryn graduated cum laude with a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Montana. She spends most of her days off outside, is an avid reader and coffee drinker, and will be running her first half marathon this summer. Her favorite way to get to know someone is waking up early to catch a sunrise.
