Story

London Marathon 2019 Baby! I wanna raise as much cash as I can for the NSPCC and beat Mo Farah but I suspect one of those goals is a bit out of my reach!

The NSPCC are involved in so many projects - Childline; the Pantosaurus (helping discussions to avoid sexual abuse); and campaigns for online safety for our children. They do much, much more than that though. They work to support families. Their  website is absolutely full of useful information for parents like managing your child's online activity - that's something we need help with around here!

If you suspect neglect or abuse of a child then you can talk to the NSPCC. They deal with all those things that we'd so like to pretend don't happen. Child abuse and neglect does happen and it can be hard to know what we can do. Well, this is what I can do and I feel bloody passionately about it.

I grew up in a situation where I wished that someone would come and rescue me. That never happened and, many years later, I now struggle with complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder attributed to my experiences from that time. Running is one of the ways that I manage these conditions and so it has evolved that I want to run the London Marathon for the NSPCC. I just want to help in a way that I can, and it helps me too.

Every childhood is worth fighting for, isn't it? As a parent I would fight and do anything for my own two but what happens to the kids who don't have that? Well, by doing this I hope to fight a little bit for them too. I know it's not much in the grand scheme of things but it's something and that's why I'm asking for your help and support, please.

The target total is £2200. Eek! Seems a lot. Fundraising is going to be a real challenge for me so I'm going to get creative with a series of different fundraising activities. Let's do this and have some fun along the way.
