Story
For those of you that have witnessed my running obsession increase over the last 3 years I'm sure it was no surprise to hear I'd be on the start line of the 2019 Bath Half (weather permitting!) This will be my 6th "official" half marathon but if it's any consolation I still stand on the start line with that nervous anxiety of first time runners knowing that it's going to hurt.
I actually didn't intend to run this for a charity this year but during my training runs through the centre of Bath I've been shocked and saddened to witness the growing number of homeless and vulnerable people of all ages taking shelter on the streets and of course that doesn't include the many struggling out of sight. It's heartbreaking, these are people just like the rest of us who for many different reasons find themselves experiencing hardships that no one should experience and without a little helping hand for many it's a vicious circle that they can't break.
The Genesis Trust aim to help homeless, hungry and vulnerable people to manage their own life challenges. They work, through many projects, to give people in Bath who are struggling a new beginning and a better future. It seemed only right that I should try to raise even a little funds to help them.
There are so many worthwhile charities asking for help so I completely understand if you are unable to sponsor me but if you did have a spare pound or two I'd be really grateful if you would consider sponsoring me.
Many thanks,
Kathleen x
