I'm proud to be joining Team Tommy's in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work saving babies' lives. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. Those that know me, know I’m not a natural runner…and those that know me will also know how much this means to me, my story is here:
On Friday 13th November 2020 we lost our baby boy, Felix.. Late miscarriages are not very common and happen in only 1-2% of pregnancies. My waters broke and I went into premature labour following a couple of weeks of painful bleeding, and multiple trips to hospital. We found there was nothing the healthcare professionals could do for us, and we faced the devastating reality of delivering my baby boy, knowing he was dying, and the inevitable grief which has followed.
I spent many a night scrolling the Tommy’s website which helped me to understand what was happening and preparing me for the journey ahead, and still now, I turn to them when I’m confused about how I feel.
It will be two years this November since we lost Felix, I want to do this in his memory…please wish me luck.
Please support me to take on the 13.1 miles of the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Follow my progress @couchtohalfmarathon2023 on Instagram.
