Story
LEAP is a student-founded student-lead community service organization where UC Law SF students run legal workshops at middle schools and high schools in the surrounding Bay Area. Our students partner with local schools and put on numerous legal workshops--including Know Your Rights classes, criminal law, evidence, and mock trial. Check us out on Instagram @leap.sf for more!
According to the American Bar Association, only 19% of attorneys in the US are considered minorities in 2023, compared to 36% of physicians and 30% of dentists. (Fogarty & Lynch, Law.com). In response to historical and lasting inaccessibility to the legal world, our purpose is to expose young people and BIPOC students to legal topics, support them in learning about careers in law, and to empower students to pursue higher education and diversify the legal field.
