I started teaching myself front crawl about a year ago and after countless early mornings and lessons in the pool I’m finally ready to get out into open water. 

The Henley Open Water swimming festival offers the opportunity to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone while raising money for Macmillan. 

Your donation will help Macmillan continue their amazing work providing specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. They also look at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaign for better cancer care.  We’ve all lost loved ones to cancer and the work my sister-in-law does as a Macmillan nurse makes a real difference to the lives of patients and their families.

Those who know me well, know I love swimming and have always swam. However, I don’t really do much to challenge myself these days. After many conversations while swimming with Liv, we decided that it was time, and that the Henley Open water swimming festival was going to be our first challenge. 

Cancer hasn’t been kind to our family, we have lost most of our loved ones due to cancer.
