Story
April 2008 we, as a family lost our precious Daughter / Sister Lucy aged 14, unfortunately Lucy had a seizure whilst having a cat scan, they couldn’t retract the bed Lucy was laying on quick enough which caused lack of oxygen to her brain.
So hard to believe all this due to an accidental overdose from a cry for help which was Ignored.
Our lives together ended that day with her passing. having to tell my 10yr old daughter that her sister had Died is still one of the hardest things I've ever done to this day. Our Lucy shouldn't have died if only her cries and my voice was heard by the relevant people/authorities I know my daughter would be here today.
The Laura Centre helped us to grieve and to cope with our loss, something that seemed impossible to cope with at the time. We have eventually rebuilt our lives but Lucy is always missed. Dad (Martin), & Sister Steph) will be proudly running the London Marathon in Lucy's memory also Twin Brother Luke is helping us to raise money to help other families who sadly will need help from The Laura Centre.
As a family, we have never done anything to say thank you to The Laura Centre for all the help and support they gave and when Lucy's sister Stephanie was given a place to run the London Marathon it only seemed fitting that we all do something to help as a united front to raise awareness for this unique Charity which helped us also many other families in time of need.
