Story
On the 2nd April just over 3 weeks away, I will be challenging myself to complete my second Half Marathon. I will be raising money for Tommy’s miscarriage research; a charity close to our hearts. Thanks to the team at St Mary’s Hospital Paddington after experiencing four devastating miscarriages, Chantelle and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl Matilda in March 2019. She brought us so much joy but we didn’t feel that our family was yet complete. We took the scary decision to try again for a second child feeling that we may be pushing our luck. Opening ourselves up to that raw emotion again was almost too much to bare. I’ll be honest I’m not sure we could have handled the heartbreak. Well… the pregnancy was far from easy or plain sailing but we welcomed our gorgeous boy Jack in August 2021. He is the light of our lives and adored by us all- especially his big sis. We could not be more grateful to the team at St Mary’s and count our lucky stars every night (even the sleepless ones!). Without them we would not have our beautiful family. * After each miscarriage your risk of another increases
* 1 in 100 women experience recurrent miscarriage
* If the cause is unknown, 6 out of 10 women who have had three miscarriages will go on to have a baby.
* The cause is unknown in around half of cases of recurrent miscarriages
Please help me to raise money for Tommy’s miscarriage research so that together we can help in some small way to improve these scary statistics. There are so many deserving couples yet to get their rainbow. All we want is to help them find answers and to ultimately take home the babies to complete their families x
