Story
10 years after running my first marathon and 4 years after a suffering stress fracture in the first metatarsal bone of my right foot, I am dusting off my shoes and stretching these old legs in order to raise funds for the institution I have now called home for a third of my life. Why? As a Champion for the Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) my fundraising efforts are more important than ever as we face this global pandemic. While traditionally focused on pediatric care, CHAM has now opened its doors to adults and the elderly suffering with COVID-19. To help this life-saving effort, donations to my fundraising campaign will support CHAM's Quality in Life Team (QUILT). This team of palliative care experts are trained to help families navigate medical decisions and offer support as they face the uncertainty of life-threatening and fatal illnesses, including COVID-19. Additionally, QUILT provides supportive contact for those patients who are unable to have a family member present due to infection control issues. To learn more about QUILT, please check out this recent News 12 story: https://tinyurl.com/y87r66hm. Please donate today to help me reach my goal and support the important work happening at CHAM every day. The good people of the Bronx need your help now, more than ever!
