For almost 60 years, A Better Chance has provided academically talented students of color from under-resourced communities with opportunities to elevate their education, propelling them on a trajectory of proven success. We create a critical bridge so that these talented Scholars have a better chance to succeed throughout their education, career and beyond. I am proud to count myself among the 18,000+ Alumni supporting the far-reaching, vital mission and critical work of this trailblazing organization.

A Better Chance helped me to receive access to an educational opportunity in the form of attending Deerfield Academy that completely altered the trajectory of my life, which culminated in me becoming the first person in my immediate family to obtain not only a bachelor's degree, but a professional doctorate as well. Now as a member of The National Advisory Council, I am proud to be able to pay it forward and support A Better Chance to identify and assist the next generation of young people of color to fulfill their potential and eventually assume positions of responsibility and leadership in our society.
