The Push-up Challenge - Samaritans Emergency Appeal

The Push-Up Challenge · 31 May 2020
I am taking part in the Push-up Challenge to raise funds for two charities that help people struggling with their mental health, one in Australia and one in the UK.
The Push-up challenge is based in Australia (where I currently live) and the aim is to do 3046 Push-ups in 21 days to recognise the 3046 Australians who took their own lives in 2018. The challenge raises funds for a youth mental health charity in Australia called headpsace, who provide support and information for young people. I am also doing this to raise emergency funds for the Samaritans in the UK, who are facing unprecedented demand for help due to the current pandemic.
See more details of the challenge in the link below, as well as details for those who want to donate in Australia for headspace. UK donations for The Samaritans is through this Justgiving page.

Coronavirus is impacting all of our lives. This crisis is the biggest challenge Samaritans has ever faced. Before Coronavirus hit, 20,000 Samaritans volunteers were answering a call for help every six seconds. This could be someone you know, family or friends in urgent need but unable to talk to anyone in the middle of the night. It is more important than ever for Samaritans to be there 24/7, 365 days a year for those who need us. Samaritans' helpline is feeling the pressure. They're likely to experience more people struggling to cope or in crisis and they may have less volunteers to help answer calls for help. Their teams are working hard to ensure that we can still be here 24/7, 365 days a year for those who are in crisis. Your donation to Samaritans Emergency Appeal will help them reach those who are struggling to cope. It will help Samaritans recruit more volunteers and work faster on different ways to be there. Change the life of someone who desperately needs them.
