January Squat Challenge 2025 · 1 January 2025 to 31 January 2025 ·

Complete 60 squats a day in January for the 60 people in the UK diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer each day.

Story

EDIT - we are overwhelmed by your generosity already, thank you so much! We are therefore increasing the target and I will increase squats too - 100 per day!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my JustGiving page.

In April last year my dear friend Julie was diagnosed with a rare gynaecological cancer. Her life changed overnight and it has been a really tough year for her and her lovely family, navigating tests, scans, treatments, recoveries and many appointments. A lot has changed in those 9 months and things are now looking more positive - radiotherapy and chemotherapy have resulted in an amazing 90% reduction of the cancer, and we are very hopeful that the last 10% will soon be beaten.

Unfortunately gynae cancer research receives very little funding, and with lesser known cancers like this one, there is little information available for patients. Today, 60 women and people with gynae organs in the UK will be told they have a gynaecological cancer. That is why my husband and I are going to do a minimum of 60 squats per day in January, one for each person diagnosed. (Now 100)

If you are able to support us in taking on The Eve Appeal’s January Squat Challenge, you are helping to fund gynae cancer research, educate people about their gynae health, and provide expert information and advice to anyone who has questions or concerns.

Anything small you can donate will be greatly appreciated and you will be playing a vital role in saving and improving thousands of lives across the UK.

Thank you!
