Story
I recently lost my lovely Grandad Ted, who fought hard against the detrimental effects of Dementia. It is so unfair that he had to go through such a tough battle, and it was extremely difficult for his close family to see him in such a way. I can't imagine anything worse than slowly forgetting how to do things you have always known how to do, and living in a world of confusion, leading to eventual loneliness when you forget who everyone around you is. No one should have to go through this, no family should have to see their loved ones in this way, and there is no better way to raise awareness for this fantastic charity than to take part in events to raise as much money as possible.
The Bath Half will be a very big challenge for me, and I will have to dedicate a lot of time to training, but I am so determined to complete it and help the amazing researchers continue to do their job in the fight against Dementia. I am a true believer that something can and will be done to prevent this horrendous disease taking more precious lives. It is predicted that by 2025 ONE MILLION people in the UK will be suffering with Dementia, with someone developing it every 3 minutes. This has to be stopped, and fast. With your help and donations (no matter how big or small) we can tackle this ever-growing problem.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page, it means a lot to me.
Much love,
Vic xxx
