We Dance to Make a Difference!

The Peanut Butter JAMM · 5 November 2022
WILL DANCE FOR KIDS PROJECT is designed to raise funds to fight childhood hunger through dance. When dancers perform they show the world the art, talents and skills they have learned. When they perform to make a difference in the lives of other kids; they learn something even more important, the art of giving. And when that happens, everyone wins!
In the past eight years, WDFKP has raised $459,000 (which translates to almost 4 million dollars in goods and services in the hands of the Food Bank) and collected over over 64,000 jars of peanut butter for the Kids’ Programs at Utah Food Bank.
The Kids Cafe program provides free snacks and evening meals in partnership with after-school sites at local elementary schools, Boys & Girls Clubs and community centers. Last year, the Utah Food Bank served 405,215 meals to children at risk of hunger at 89 after-school sites.
Utah Food Bank’s newest program, Mobile School Pantry, complements both school meal programs and our other childhood hunger programs. It provides a cost-effective food distribution point for children and their families at the end of the school day in a safe and trusted environment—the school playground. Last year, through distribution at 67 school sites, the Utah Food Bank was able to reach 223,868 individuals, 131,444 of whom were children. This year, they are serving 62 sites—and the program continues to grow!
Utah Food Bank can stretch each $1 donated into $8.71 worth of goods and services, so every donation truly has an impact. Please support their important work today with a donation!
