Story
I am volunteering again in July at the Wendt Center's Camp-Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC to remember my brother, Robert, and to help DC-area children who have lost someone in their lives.
For 25 years, Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC has been a unique source of joy, support, and healing for grieving children and families in the area. To date, over 1,300 grieving children (ages 6-17) have participated and had an opportunity to enter a safe space away from their everyday lives to explore the normal yet overwhelming process of grief. Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC kids will enjoy a day of activities and grief focused workshops to help them express themselves and develop bonds with others. The Wendt Center believes that grief impacts the entire family system and a portion of each session is dedicated to integrating caregivers. Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC is provided free of charge. Help support kids suffering from the effects of homicide, suicide, drug overdoses, and other causes of grief and trauma. Thanks!
