Story
Living with an ostomy can feel like moving through the world in the dark — uphill, uncertain, and often alone. It’s a journey full of invisible challenges, quiet courage, and the kind of resilience most people never see.
This year, I’m taking on a challenge that reflects that reality. For 24 hours, I’ll run a 10 km loop with 500 m of climbing, over and over, through the night and into the next day. The terrain is steep, technical, and unforgiving. The darkness will be real. The fatigue will be real. The doubt will be real.
But so is the purpose.
Every loop is a reminder of the people who wake up each day facing obstacles far greater than anything on the trail. People who navigate stigma, isolation, and the fear of being misunderstood. People who deserve community, dignity, and support — not silence.
That’s why I’m running.
That’s why Ultras for Ostomies exists.
And that’s why your support matters.
Your donation to Ostomy Canada helps ensure that no one has to walk this path alone. It funds education, advocacy, peer support, and life‑changing resources for people across the country who are trying to rebuild confidence and connection.
When you contribute, you’re not just backing my run.
You’re lighting the trail for someone who needs it.
You’re helping turn isolation into community.
You’re reminding people that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
I’ll keep climbing through the night.
With your support, others won’t have to climb theirs in the dark.
Thank you for standing with me — and with every Canadian living with an ostomy.
