Story
Every day at UHN’s West Park, people are helped by skilled, caring healthcare professionals to recover from serious injury or illness, regain their independence, and get their lives back.
People like Patty, who lost her right leg above the knee to cancer and then, years later, suffered a brain aneurism that led to a stroke. Both times she recovered with the help of the West Park team, learning to use her prosthetic leg and, in 2020, recovering the movement in the left side of her body and re-learning key cognitive skills.
A keen amateur baker, Patty was able to re-orient herself to a kitchen environment in West Park’s Activities of Daily Living suite and, last year, was a contestant on The Great Canadian Baking Show!
I’m participating in the Culinary Showdown on November 1st to help patients like Patty, and the many people who need West Park’s specialized rehabilitation and complex care programs.
Please support me with a donation, for all the people who depend on West Park.
