On August 12, 2025, I’ll be stepping off the edge of a building — literally — as part of the Drop Zone fundraiser for Easter Seals. It’s a bold and slightly terrifying challenge, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the bravery I see in my son Theo every single day.

Theo is 5 years old and lives with multiple complex medical and developmental needs. He is mostly non-verbal, has moderate to severe developmental delays, and faces chronic pain and behavioral challenges. He also lives with a heart condition that causes decreased endurance, which can make daily activities more tiring and challenging than most people realize. But despite all of this, Theo’s spirit is bright, determined, and deeply inspiring.

One of the programs that has truly made a difference in our lives is the Easter Seals Equipment Program. With their support, we were able to get a specialized wagon that allowed Theo to explore more of the world around him — safely and comfortably. It gave us more freedom, more fresh air, and more family memories. That one piece of equipment opened up so many more possibilities for us.

As Theo grows, Easter Seals will continue to be a valuable part of his journey — including through their inclusive summer camps, where he’ll have the chance to make friends, have fun, and just be a kid in an environment that understands and supports his needs.

So, I’m jumping for Theo. And I’m jumping for every family who relies on the support Easter Seals provides.

Every dollar raised through Drop Zone goes directly to Easter Seals programs, helping kids like Theo gain access to the equipment, support, and opportunities they deserve.
